With the chaos of the holiday season and having kids running around, it’s impossible to keep the house spotless. But with these cleaning tips, you can have the house straightened and smelling festive thanks to the Febreze Holiday Collection.
After cleaning up the house, I like to spray Febreze AIR Effects Fresh Cranberry Twist around the kitchen and living room to help clean the air of odors and keep my house smelling festive and fresh.
Be sure to head to your local Dollar General and save $2 instantly with a $12 purchase of any Febreze product, available until February 4th, 2019.
The struggle is real. No seriously, the struggle to keep my house clean and smelling great is legit! Especially during the holiday season when we have parties, dinners, shopping, school plays and last-minute visitors. For better or worse, I know one of the first things people will notice when they walk into my home is the scent.
Thank goodness having a stinky house isn’t one of the struggles! Febreze holiday scents are available in AIR, CAR, PLUG, CANDLE and WAX MELTS. I like to use the plugs in the bathrooms and the candles, spray, and wax melts in the living room and kitchen.
Air Effects are great for instantly removing odors in the air and leaving behind a great scent. They’re perfect for when you need a burst of freshness before family and friends come to visit.
Thankfully, Dollar General is just a few blocks from my house so I can easily and quickly pop in for milk, party supplies, birthday gifts and, of course, cleaning supplies. I always seem to be running out of cleaning supplies, yet my house is never spotless and I always need to do a quick cleaning before guests come over. Go figure.
Tips on how to clean your home in just 10 minutes:
Clean only the rooms that guests will see – Don’t waste your time cleaning up rooms that guests will not even go into. Clean what is necessary and save the bedrooms for another day.
Shut the doors – Shut the doors to all bedrooms. The rest of the house may look clean and organized but by shutting the bedroom doors, guests don’t have to see the clutter in those rooms.
Dirty dishes in the dishwasher – Keep your clean sink empty to give the appearance of a tidy kitchen.
Laundry basket storage – Grab an empty laundry basket and toss in any clutter that needs to get out of the way. Once you gather all the unnecessary clutter, put the laundry basket in the closet and find a home for those object another day.
Wipe down counters and table – No one wants to touch a sticky counter or table. Wipe those down and your kitchen will be looking clean!
Vacuum (or sweep) – A quick vacuum can instantly make a room look clean.
Open the blinds – Open the blinds in the living room to add natural light and a clean, airy look to the room.
Double check the bathroom – With kids, this is a given! Make sure toilets are flushed and dry up any water that is inevitably on the counter. Make sure you have a Febreze Plug in Fresh Cut Pine to keep the room smelling fantastic.
Place towels in the washing machine – Grab any dirty towels from the bathroom and place them in the washing machine to get them out of the way. Wait to start the machine until guests leave in order to keep the noise down.
Spray the kitchen & living room – Grab a bottle of Febreze Air Effects in Fresh Cranberry Twist and give a little spray around the living room and kitchen after you have cleaned up. Not only will your home look nice and neat but it will smell festive, too!
It’s amazing how fast you can get your home in order when you have guests coming over!
