Create a cleaning schedule
No matter if you want to clean one room per day or clean the entire house over the weekend. Make a cleaning schedule and stick to it. Mark it on the calendar so that everyone in the house knows when the cleaning days are. If it’s on the calendar, I find it easier to stick with and get the chores done.
Create a cleaning plan
Decide what cleaning that needs to be done and make a checklist. Simply write out the list of chores such as sweep/mop, dust, clean the bathrooms, make beds, take out the trash, etc. Seeing the items written down helps keep you focused and remembering which items to tackle.
Gather your supplies
It’s important to stock up on cleaning supplies and make sure you have everything you need. When you are getting ready to clean, add everything to a bucket and carry it from room to room. Will save time and limit distractions when you aren’t constantly looking for the correct cleaning supplies.
Make it fun
Of course, most people don’t think of cleaning the house as fun. But finding ways to make it more enjoyable will make the entire process seem like less of a chore. Put on your favorite podcast or Spotify playlist and jam out while scrubbing those toilets. Or get the kids involved and make it a contest to see who can mark off their cleaning list first.
These tips are sure to help you get into a cleaning routine and keep your home clean during the school year. Purchase the The Neato D8 from 8/29-9/11 and you can save $100! It will help keep your house clean this school year and is basically like having a maid for your floors!
