Texas State Parks Near Dallas
BONHAM STATE PARK | 1 hr 30 min
Spend the day hiking or biking the 8 miles of trails, fishing, bird watching, geocaching, or swimming in the lake.
This state park has 20 campsites that have full hookups and tent sites.
CEDAR HILL STATE PARK | 30 min
Enjoy a picnic by the lake, tour an old Texas farm, and hike your way through tall grass prairies and rugged limestone.

CLEBURNE STATE PARK | 45 min
Located in Clebure, the park has a 115-acre spring-fed lake, hiking & biking trails, tent, RV, and cabin campsites. Visitors can rent a kayak or paddle board from the self-service kiosk at the Cedar Lodge.
DINOSAUR VALLEY STATE PARK | 1 hr
Find dinosaur tracks, camp, fish, hike, camp, and splash in the river. Guests can also bring their horses and can explore the 100-acre South Primitive Area.

FORT PARKER STATE PARK | 1 hr 25 min
Rent a canoe or kayak and paddle the 5.3-mile Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail. Guests can also camp, hike, fish, and enjoy nature watching.
FORT RICHARDSON STATE PARK | 1 hr 15 min
Fort Richardson State Park, Historic Site & Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway is the perfect place to explore for the history buff. Fort Richardson protected settlers along the Texas frontier and today visitors can take a self-guided tour of the outpost.
EISENHOWER STATE PARK | 1 hr 30 min

LAKE MINERAL WELLS STATE PARK | 1 hr

Penitentiary Hollow is one of the few natural rock climbing venues in North Texas.

PALO PINTO MOUNTAINS STATE PARK | 1 hr 20 min
The newest state park in Texas has more than 4,800 acres and has ample space for horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking trails.
PURTIS CREEK STATE PARK | 1 hr 30 min
With more than 1,500 acres, there is plenty of open space to explore. Visitors can fish, hike, picnic, camp, and enjoy nature.
RAY ROBERTS LAKE STATE PARK | 1 hr
This is a great fishing lake. You can fish from shore, launch your boat, or hire a guide. Guests can also enjoy swimming in the lake, hiking, and nature watching.
TYLER STATE PARK | 2 hr
Located in the Piney Woods, guests can enjoy the beautiful scenery, hike, fish, swim, and set up camp.
