I used Snake River Farms American Wagyu Beef. It’s tender meat and comes in my monthly subscription service.
What kind of waffles to use
I prefer to use store-bought waffles (like an Eggo waffle) because it’s fast and makes for an easy recipe. Plus I understand that not everyone has a waffle maker.
But you can use homemade waffles, cheese waffles, chocolate chip waffles, blueberry waffles…. the possibilities are endless and are a great substitute for hamburger buns.
Burger Substitutions
You can easily make substitutions to switch up this recipe! You can even switch out the all-beef patty for a fried, crispy chicken breast.
If you don’t want to fry the burger patty you can bake in the oven at 375 for 25 minutes. Or cook in the air fryer at 400 for about 7-10 minutes.
Waffle Burger Toppings
Give your family a variety of their favorite toppings to make the burger how they please. Add any of the following toppings for the ultimate waffle burger.
- Fried onions
- Slices of Bacon
- Canadian bacon
- Onion Rings
- Jalapeno pepper slices
- Fried Egg
- Black Pepper
- Cheddar Cheese
What to serve with waffle burgers
You can’t make a good hamburger without the perfect side dishes. It’s fun to serve them with these air fryer frozen steak fries, parmesan green beans, or easy side salad.
How to store burgers
It’s best to store the ingredients separately so the burger and ingredients don’t become soggy. Add ingredients to a ziplock bag or airtight container and place them in the refrigerator.
Reheat and assemble the burger as you desire. Makes for the perfect leftover meal!
