On Saturday we had the most lovely Fall evening and decided to try our hands at cooking over an open fire. This campfire stew recipe was a little intimidating at first, thinking I would either burn the meat or not get the fire hot enough. But the stew turned out perfect and we are already thinking about the next thing we should make.
How to make Campfire Stew Recipe
Ingredients needed:
Stew Meat
Can of baked beans
1 Potato (peeled and chopped)
5 Red Potatoes (chopped)
Onion
2 garlic cloves
Directions:
- In large cast iron pot, add chopped onions, garlic, potatoes and beans.
- Bring pot to a boil and stir in stew meat. Cook for 30-45 minutes until meat is cooked thoroughly.
- Serve with hot bread.
See, so simple. I had nothing to worry about!
What a neat fall recipe!
