My husband and I are not big fans of Valentine’s Day. It always seems so forced, the restaurants are packed and the price of flowers have tripled. But since we both enjoy cooking, we decided to have a night in and make some Lobster Mac n Cheese. Wow, this recipe did not disappoint! We have been wanting to make this for awhile, and decided this would be the perfect day to spend in the kitchen.
Caution: This recipe is extremely delicious, full of calories and will make you say Mmmm multiple times throughout the meal.
How to make Lobster Mac & Cheese
1 lb medium pasta shells
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Boil large pot of salted water. Add pasta and cook al dente.
Heat milk in a small saucepan. In a large pot, melt 6 tablespoons of butter and add the flour. Cook over low heat for about 2 minutes, stir with whisk. Add hot milk and cook for 2 more minutes while continuing to whisk. Take milk mixture off heat and add the cheddar, Gruyere, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir until cheese is melted and smooth. Stir in the pasta and lobster, then place in individual dishes. Sprinkle on the bacon and chives.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter, combine it with the bread crumbs and add to the top. Bake for 30 minutes or until sauce is bubble and browned on top.
Serve and enjoy!
