To say that my son loves fishing is an understatement. He is obsessed with all things fishing & tackle. I will drive him to Cabela’s so that he can spend hours exploring each and every aisle to find the perfect $6 swim bait. Then we when get home he will take EVERY SINGLE ITEM out of his tackle box and reorganize it.

Because of his passion for the sport, I decided to book a fishing guide trip for his 6th birthday. It’s ok, you can say it…I’m one AWESOME mom!
I decided to make a little getaway out of it. We headed to Lake Ray Roberts the day before so we could explore the state park, hike, fish, see wildlife and enjoy the sunset over the water.
The next morning we woke at the crack of dawn to meet our guide at the boat dock. We then watched the sun rise over the lake and spent the next 4 very cold, but adventurous hours of Carson reeling in one fish after the other.
This little guy caught over 30! I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate his 6th birthday than fishing from a bass boat – it’s a birthday he certainly will never forget.
