Margaritaville Lake Conroe is the perfect destination to relax and have some fun.
Located on the shores of Lake Conroe, about an hour outside of Houston, you’ll find this gorgeous and laid-back resort.
With its endless amenities, multiple restaurants, golf course, spa, and water activities, it will have you feeling like it’s 5 o’clock somewhere and wishing you never have to leave.
Although Margaritaville Lake Conroe is a destination all on its own, the city of Conroe has so many fun and exciting things to do. Everything from a national forest, water sports, museums, breweries, sunset boat tours and so much more.
You can enjoy the laid-back island vibes while laying poolside with a drink in your hand the entire trip. Or you can stay entertained with the variety of recreational activities the resort offers.
FUN FACT: The hotel provides every guest with a waterproof wristband. This acts as your room key, and access to the amenities on the resort property.

Large Rooms
The resort consists of 32 colorful waterfront cottages and 303 luxury suites.
We stayed in a king suite that features, an entryway for bags, a living room with a couch that folds out into a bed, and a large private bedroom. The bathroom is spacious as well. The suites also have a mini fridge, coffee maker, and balcony.
They also have a 1,800 square feet Jimmy Buffett Presidential Suite that are located on the highest floor of the resort tower.
The Lakefront Cottages have a private bedroom and full-size pullout bed in the living room. Some cottages have lofts that feature two full-size beds, making it a fun kid-friendly space.
Jolly Mon Water Park
The 3.5-acre water park features a lazy river, splash zone, hot tubs, an infinity pool, water slides, and lounge chairs.
The pool area also features an adults-only pool and tanning deck.
Delicious Restaurants
With seven dining options, rest assured that you will be well-fed on your vacation!
Landshark Bar & Grill is the perfect spot to dine when needing a break from the pool. We enjoyed this laid-back restaurant while dining on the patio.
This lakefront dining has 30 boat slips and offers gorgeous views of Lake Conroe.
License to Chill Cafe is located in the main building adjacent to the front desk. We had a delicious dinner here and enjoyed the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the waterpark and views of the lake.
Other Dining Options:
- Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Provisions offers Starbucks all day, grab-and-go food & snacks as well as breakfast, sandwiches, and pizza.
- Playin’ A Round Cafe is located at The Golf Club and is a great place to dine after a round of golf.
- Boathouse Bar & Lounge serves up light bites, dinner, dessert, and cocktails on weekends only.
- The Lone Palm Pool Bar is located next to the lazy river and menu items include classic American beach food, cocktails, and a variety of beers. (Not open to the public)
- 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar – This rustic swim-up pool bar runs on island time and serves up tasty bar bites, tropical drinks, good times, and breathtaking sunsets daily. (Not open to the public)

Spa
St. Somewhere Spa is the ultimate place to unwind and relax. They offer a wide variety of massages and spa treatments, including a deep tissue massage which I enjoyed.
The spa also has a hair and nail salon, steam rooms, showers, a whirlpool tub, and lounges.
Games, games, games
There is no shortage of games and recreational activities for guests to enjoy.
Visitors can enjoy a fully-equipped fitness center, play a round of golf, and enjoy tennis, mini golf, pickle ball, and lawn games near the pool. On the second floor of the main tower is an arcade for some late-night fun with the kids.
Lake Activities
Lake Conroe spans 22,000 acres and if you want to have some fun on the water, then head to Einstein’s Surf & Boat Shop.
Einstein’s Surf & Boat Shop offers rentals on boats, jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats, fishing poles, and live bait.
This is also the destination where you can board a 35-person tiki hut party barge. Enjoy a 2-hour sunset cruise around Lake Conroe while enjoying snacks and music.
