We all have busy and chaotic lives at times, so it’s nice to schedule an evening for fun and catch up with family and friends. Our family dinners are usually potluck, but this night I decided to cook for everyone. I did after all purchase a new Calphalon Signature™ Nonstick 5QT dutch oven from Macy’s that I needed to break in. It was the perfect excuse!
I made these mouthwatering crab stuffed mushrooms for everyone to munch on while dinner was still cooking.
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh crab meat
1/2 cup onions, chopped
5 tbsp Parmesan cheese
20 button mushrooms
1/2 breadcrumbs
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup red pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Directions:
- Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Remove the stems from mushrooms and arrange in dutch oven.
- Combine all ingredients (except for breadcrumbs) in large bowl and mix.
- Stuff the mushrooms with the crab mixture.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of each mushroom.
- Place in oven for 15-20 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
- Plate and enjoy!
I also made these fun place cards – it’s a way to make the dinner feel a little more special. To create the crepe paper flowers you will need crepe paper, hot glue gun and clothespins.
Cut a strip of the paper about 2 feet long and fold over at about 1/3 of the way. Roll the paper a few times, keeping the folded edge on the outside. Twist the paper half way while wrapping it around. Continue to twist, turn and wrap until you have a completed flower. Add a dab of hot glue on the back and place on the clothespin. Cut out a rectangle using card stock paper and write the names of your guests.
Be sure to check out the entire Calphalon Signature™ Nonstick and Stainless Steel Cookware online at Macy’s. The cookware comes with a full lifetime warranty and is made up of a combination of nonstick convenience and performance of stainless steel.
Not only does this dutch oven cook the mushrooms evenly and to perfection, it’s durable and can be used with metal utensils. Oh and you are able to place it in the dishwasher making after dinner cleanup quick and easy!
What is your favorite appetizer you make when entertaining?
Stuffed mushrooms always make me smile–and especially with crab meat. I really could use a new dutch oven and I probably would be making these appetizers for me and not just for guest!
I have a lot about Calphalon cookware over the years and have always wanted to try it. If we are serving appetizers it's usually a variety.
I have an aversion to mushrooms, but my wife would be all over this. Crab is her favorite seafood (well, next to lobster).
Believe it or not crab is one of those things I have not had a lot of. I do love mushrooms and order them often I believe this dish would be something I would love to try

I have not had crab ever, these look really good to make. I don't think I have ever had stuffed mushrooms like this.
Ooo these sure do look mouthwatering!! {client}
I have this cookware and I absolutely love it! The best I have ever had. I need to add to my collection. Thanks for the great appetizer recipe too. Sounds delicious.
These look really amazing. I want to make them for a party soon!
I've made crab mushrooms a few times but this recipe sounds great. i will have to try it!
Mushrooms seem to be very divisive, but my family loves them! I haven't stuffed mine with crab before, but this looks seriously delicious.
