My family enjoys watching basketball,
especially the tournament. There is just so much excitement wrapped up in those
few weeks – especially just the thought of a possible Cinderella story. You
just never know what is going to happen! Of course you can’t watch all the
games without some sort of delicious treat.
While I was out shopping at my local
Sam’s Club this weekend, I saw a display of Skittles 54oz bags and just couldn’t
resist. I decided to pick up a bag to create a Slam Dunk game-watching dessert
for me and my family. My homemade Skittles sherbet recipe will sure make basketball
sweeter.
Ingredients Needed:
1 cup Skittles
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 cups fruit punch
8 oz sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
Directions:
In a small saucepan heat Skittles and water until melted. In a large food
processor (or mixer) add melted Skittles, fruit punch, condensed milk, crushed
pineapple and strawberries. Process until ingredients are mixed thoroughly. Pour
the liquid in a large pan and place mixture in freezer for at least 4 hours.
Before serving sherbet, let thaw out for about 30 minutes on counter. This makes
it a little easier to scoop out into dishes. Top with additional Skittles for added
flavor. It’s only madness if you don’t have Skittles!
Are you planning on watching the tournament? What treats do you make for the
games?
You can find more ideas at skittlestourney.com or on the Skittles Facebook page.
