A batch of these sweet baked maple oat scones is the perfect snack. Pair it with a cup of hot coffee and good magazines while enjoying the beautiful weather. Not a bad way to start the morning!
Baked Maple Oat Scones
Ingredients needed:
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup syrup
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
Glaze:
1 1/4 confectioners sugar
1/2 cup syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 400. Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Then mix in the butter until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add milk and syrup to form a soft dough. Form the dough into tablespoon size balls and place on baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
To make the glaze, simply combine all three ingredients. Let scones cool for 2 minutes, then drizzle each scone with glaze.
Serve warm and it’s best with coffee.

Not only do I love scones, but I have a "thing" for maple syrup lately (must be the Fall weather). I'll have to give these a try.
Thanks for sharing on Tasty Tuesdays.
Yum! this looks so delicious.
Mmmm, scones! These look nice and easy, too. A friend of mine made scones last month and it took her two days because they had to sit in the fridge overnight! No thanks. Yours look far simpler and they have oats. Awesome! Visiting from the Pin Junkie. =)

Those are beyond amazing. Golden, crackling and seemingly burned and toasted at the right time. Perfect for all occassions and state of diet. We do need pastries like that in our lives, so thanks for the head's up. Kudos!
