Now that spring break has past, I am in summer planning mode. Only 9 weeks of school left and I am looking forward to our first summer road trip. There are so many places around Texas I want to explore – the hard part is deciding where to go!
So if you are loading up your current vehicle or looking to purchase a new one, here is what to look for in a car that is great for road trips.
- Tough and Dependable – You’ll want to get off the beaten path, drive on new trails and drive through the mud.
- Storage – Having plenty of storage is a must for taking any trip. We always carry too much fishing gear along with our normal bags. So having easy access to grab what you need without unloading the car is a must. I’ve been driving a Ford F150 for year now and don’t know how we ever survived without a truck. Plus it’s nice that my son’s 4 wheeler can fit in the bed as well.
- Back Up Camera – With your car loaded down with luggage, it’s nice to have this feature.
- Bluetooth – Most vehicles come with this now. And it’s great to listen to your favorite podcasts while on the road.
