Last month we celebrated Carson’s fifth birthday with a army themed party. He is all about playing guns, watching old G.I Joe reruns on YouTube and capturing the bad guy. It seemed only fitting that this be the theme.
For decorations I stocked up at Oriental Trading for the plates, napkins, cups and goodies for the kids. Each child got their own dog tag and could write their name on the back. Then I surprised them all later with camo marshmallow shooters. I bought all the supplies online and 3 days later they arrived at my doorstep – this is my new favorite place for all things parties!
We spent the evening enjoying dinner, cake and watching Carson tear into his presents. After gifts, the kids headed into the backyard for a friendly game with marshmallow shooters. Each kid got their own gun and bag of mini marshmallows. It was so fun watching them shoot each other and the parents “helping” – you know, to make sure they work correctly.
It was a wonderful party and the perfect way to celebrate my favorite little guy!
