Accommodations

My son and I stayed in a King Suite Preferred Level room located on the top floor that featured a comfy king-sized bed, flat-screen TV and a separate living room with a pull-out sleeper sofa and wet bar. It was wonderful that we each had our own space!

The room had a modern, yet rustic decor and a leather couch that had me wishing I could lounge on it all day!

We love the views from our room. The 15th floor had sweeping views of Lubbock and overlooked the Texas Tech campus. My son enjoyed sitting at the desk drawing and watching the Tech football team on the practice field.

Some of the perks of booking a preferred level room is the daily breakfast vouchers, turndown service, bathrobes and the evening manager’s reception.

The evening manager’s reception was wonderful. We enjoyed the complementary sodas, cocktails, and light bites. The reception is only for the preferred level guests, which meant that the reception wasn’t crowded and a great way to start off the evening in a laid back environment.

Pecan Grill

A casual fair restaurant that serves up breakfast and dinner. Pecan Grill serves up a modern cuisine with a Texas twist with dinner items like the lobster fritters, pork tenderloin, variety of steak options, soups and salad.

We started each day with breakfast! The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of options such as eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, muffins, yogurt bar and Texas shaped waffles. Which of course was my sons favorite.

Diners can also choose to have a made to order omelet with all your favorite meats and veggies.

All day dining is also served up in the lounge area from 11am to 1am. The lounge area is decorated with leather bar stools, outdoor patio dining and a daily happy hour.

Overton Hotel Heated Outdoor Pool

This was my sons favorite part of the hotel! Night swims are always a hit and having a heated pool and jacuzzi was the perfect way to unwind after a fun day exploring Lubbock. The weather had turned cold, but thanks to the heated pool, he was able to enjoy a swim before bed.

Live Music

The Overton has artists playing live music on the weekends. After dinner we walked into the lobby and heard live music. Of course we had to go sit outside around the fire pit and listen to the jams. The laid back vibes and cozy patio is the perfect place to enjoy a drink and music.

Fitness Center

Wanting to get a workout in while staying at the hotel? The fitness center has fresh towels, multiple cardio stations, free weights, machines and bottled water.
