Looking for a unique vacation destination? Check out this yurt for a weekend of glamping in Texas.
Spending a few days in the country makes me so incredibly happy. I look forward to our Texas getaways so that we can escape the city life and enjoy some time in nature.
Located 45 minutes from downtown Fort Worth is the most wonderful glamping destination. As we entered the gate at Double F River Ranch in Weatherford, we were greeted with pastures of beautiful Texas wildflowers and rolling hills overlooking the Brazos river.
Away from the city lights and stresses of everyday, we spent 2 nights enjoying the country life. Wishing we could have stayed longer!
Before exploring the property, we drove to the Sundancer, which is a luxurious tent made in Africa. The yurt has central air & heat. full bathroom, kitchenette, hot tub, on demand waterfall and firepit. Surrounded by large oak trees, the front porch rocking chairs are the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the sounds of wildlife around you.
The yurt features one bedroom with a queen size bed and in the living room, a couch that folds out into a queen bed. It’s the perfect size for a small family.
What to do when glamping in Texas
Fishing
After dropping off our bags, we headed down to the Brazos river. Texas has seen an unusual amount of rain the last few months, so the Brazos was raging. So instead of swimming in the fast moving current, we tried our luck at fishing from shore.
Hiking
With 350 acres to explore we were never short on places to hike. The boys carried their BB guns around with them and had a blast shooting at trees while pretending they were on a big game hunt.
Relaxing
This is by far my favorite glamping activity. On the back patio are 2 lounge chairs that overlooked a creek and waterfall. It was the perfect place to enjoy my morning coffee and listen to the birds chirp.
We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway or a more perfect glamping destination.
