This DIY chalkboard notebook is a fun back to school craft. 

Summer is coming to a close and we are busy preparing for the new school year. My son was especially excited to go back to school shopping to pick up supplies for his class, as well as some for home to practice his writing.

This year I let him pick out a couple of extra composition notebooks that we could paint and draw on with chalk. It’s always more fun when kids can add their own creativity to their school supplies and can help them get excited about heading back to the classroom.

While shopping at Walmart of school supplies, I also picked up snacks that are perfect to pack in the lunch box. How to make a DIY Chalkboard Notebook 

Composition Notebook
Chalkboard spray paint
Painters tape
Decorative duct or washi tape
Chalkboard Marker or chalk

Directions: 

1. Using the painters tape, tape the spine and edges of the notebook.
2. Spray on 2 coats of paint.
3. Once dry, carefully remove the painters tape.
4. Add a piece of duct tape to the spine for decoration.
5. Let your children decorate the cover.

This is such a fun and easy craft that will get your kids ready for back to school. Whether they are going into kindergarten or senior year this craft will sure to be a hit among their friends.
