Balboa Park
Balboa Park is vast. Spanning 1,200 acres, this is an outdoor space that offers so much you could spend days exploring it. For kids, there are playgrounds scattered around the many walking trails. This means that the little ones can let off some steam while they explore the beautiful natural landscapes. Specialist gardens are also found here, such as butterfly gardens, and gardens housing spectacular giant succulents and cacti.
Balboa Park is also home to San Diego Zoo. The zoo houses an array of species, including giant pandas and big cats.
Old Town
If you want to get an insight into the history of San Diego, learn about the area’s indigenous population, and see how the area used to look – a visit to the Old Town is a must. There are many museums to choose from here to enrich your knowledge, and you can even take a walking tour to be guided through the history of the Old Town and its most significant sites. This is a location for all to enjoy, as it offers plenty of food, shopping, and arts to experience while you’re there. For history buffs, the Old Town is an absolute must-visit destination.
