The new year has arrived and with that comes resolutions, that most likely deal with weight loss or living a healthier life. As you know, without a game plan it is difficult to achieve these goals. The book What The Fork Are You Eating?: An Action Plan for Your Pantry and Plate helps you establish a strategy for living a healthier lifestyle, as well as decoding misleading food labels.
My favorite section of this book is related to food labels. We all know about food labels, but the author goes a lot deeper than just what each percentage means and why we should care. In one example she breaks down the ingredient list for a package of crackers and discusses what each ingredient is…and the list is long! Twenty-six ingredients just for some crackers. This book will make you rethink the meaning of the word “natural.”
Not only does this book give you an insight on what you are actually eating, but a entire list of great foods to stock your pantry with, as well as a list of storage tips for keeping your food fresh as can be.
