About two weeks ago, sickness had taken over our household. At the time, I thought it couldn’t get worse. Boy was I wrong! But that’s a story for another time.
While I thought it had been a horrible week of sickness, my little guy never complained. He always said he felt ok and even after each bout stuck near the potty, he never whined or cried. How that is possible I don’t know – the kid just has a wonderful disposition! But the day I remember most, was when he was sitting on the toilet, his little brown eyes full of sickness, looked at me and said with a smile, “Today is a great day!”
Wow, talk about a gut check! Here I am complaining and I’m the one healthy. I should be shouting with joy that I am blessed enough to have a family to take care of.
I leave you with a verse a friend of mine sent me as encouragement as my family goes through this tough time. “Now to him who is able to immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work with us.” Ephesians 3:20
