Last weekend we had the most amazing time in the Texas Hill Country. We stayed in one of the secluded cabins at Angel Springs in Georgetown. This area of the state is absolutely beautiful with its rolling hills, caverns, lakes and amazing sunsets. It was the perfect way to kick off the summer!
Our mornings were spent enjoying breakfast on the porch while listening to the birds chirp before heading out on a hike. Carson enjoyed trying to track down the animal prints and chasing after the jack rabbits. The evenings were just as perfect as we sat enjoying the cool evening air and looking up at the star-filled sky. It was breathtaking!
On Saturday, it was nice to soak in the deep whirlpool tub after a day of exploring the Inner Space Caverns. As much as I enjoy being in the country, I was thrilled Angel Springs had plenty of modern amenities.
On Sunday we packed up and headed out on one last hike before
hitting the road. When we got back to the cabin, little man started to cry. He
said he was sad to leave and wanted to stay for 20 more days – me too bud, me
too!

Wow, what an incredible place.
There is something magical about getting away to a cabin in the woods with our children. I love how they naturally revert to Old School fun: catching bugs, climbing trees, jumping over brooks, watching clouds.
This place looks like a small piece of heaven!
It really is! Yes – my son didn't ask to watch tv or do anything electronic for the entire trip – it was wonderful:)
