We recently spent a night in Dallas with some friends for a staycation at the Embassy Suites Dallas – Love Field and to try their new
restaurant Tap & Tavern. Our friend Bob is the manager and chef-extraordinaire
and we couldn’t wait to try out his signature dishes.
This dining spot is not your typical hotel restaurant. Tap & Tavern is a cozy, modern with a hint of
southern décor restaurant that has an impressive gastropub-style menu. The expansive tree covered patio is the perfect dining spot on a warm Texas
evening while sipping on a local craft beer and nibbling on one of the many unique appetizers.
With so many delectable dishes it was impossible to choose just one! We started off with the buttered poached lobster mac n cheese with slab bacon and an order of habanero glazed smoked wings with apple fennel slaw (which was my husbands favorite dish.)
For the main course we dined on buffalo chicken cobb salad that was large enough to feed multiple people, ginger-soy glazed salmon with sauteed kale and a hearty serving of spicy chicken quesadillas served with all the fixings.
It was truly an excellent dinner but the fun didn’t stop there! We capped off the evening by sharing the most decadent dessert of vanilla bean ice cream served with pecan granola crunch with bourbon based Luxerado cherries and fresh-baked cookie. This indulgent treat isn’t on the menu, but is recommended by all of the servers when presented with dessert options.
Carson couldn’t hide his enjoyment and after dinner proudly announced that Chef Bob was his favorite chef. Me too Carson, me too!
