When I buy a car, I plan on having it for at least 8-10 years. It’s a big, expensive purchase and want to make sure that I pick a vehicle that will last and be a perfect fit for my family.
Buying a new vehicle takes time, planning and research. Here are a few tips to help during your car buying process.
- Research – Take the time to research what type of vehicle you are wanting, the brand and what features you are wanting. Before scouring every car lot, you can get most of your research done at Cars.com. You can read reviews, compare prices and figure out what vehicles to test drive.
- Test Drive – Be sure to test drive the vehicle you are wanting is comfortable, spacious and fit all of your families needs. When purchasing my truck, I drove several (even of the same make) becaue each drives just a little different.
- Set a Budget – Even before you step foot on that car lot, be sure to set a budget and make sure you can afford it. Be sure to check your insurance rate and cost of gas need to be considered when purchasing the vehicle.
- Keep an open mind – You might only be searching for a brand new car, but you may find exactly what you are looking for in a used car. Be open to test driving that used car and you may see that it’s a much better deal than the latest model.
